A new high school is planned for the Monterey community to house grades 7-12. Replacing an outdated 1950's building, the new facility takes maximum advantage of the sloping site with a compact two-story design. Zoned with athletic and community functions on one side and academic functions on the other, a central courtyard offers a flexible multi-use space for outdoor classes and activities, while providing optimum security. The building creatively nestles into the topography to provide an overlook at the top of the football stands and offers locker rooms below. Athletic fields are rebuilt to current standards and they provide a wonderful resource for community and school alike.
