Northshore Town Center
This proposal provided a New Urbanist plan for a mixed-use retail, office, residential, and hospitality development on a 125-acre site zoned as a Town Center zone in West Knoxville. With density-of-use and pedestrian friendliness as a priority, the town center focused the town square off the boardwalk around an existing lake area and stepped use and scale up the hill to the existing residential neighborhood. Residential flats were planned above street-level retail, which featured views to the lake and Smoky Mountains beyond. Tree-lined streets, two-to-three level buildings, and a mix of retail uses ensure a lively and attractive urban experience.
