UT Greenhouse

Knoxville, Tennessee

The new UT Greenhouse is comprised of two distinct parts - a head house and a glasshouse - each designed for maximum efficiency in order to best utilize the limited site and budget. Since the primary purpose of the facility is plant research, the head house has been configured as a linear bar hugging the north property line in order to maximize the footprint available for the glasshouse.

Project Notes:

Metal roofing and wall panels share a clear-anodized finish with the adjacent Business Incubator building. The “campus blend” color of the brick veneer wrapping the head house and base of the glasshouse bays is based on UT’s campus standards. The glasshouse system closely matches the systems used on two recently completed greenhouses nearby.
