Oak Ridge Heritage Center Study

Oak Ridge, Tennessee

The first step in this illustrative study for Heritage Center was to understand its context. Heritage Center, the former K-25 site, is the western anchor to Oak Ridge and a vital component in the Secret City story.

Comments from the city council and staff were positive. "Should I ever be in the position to again recommend the engagement of Red Chair Architects for a project where I had involvement, I would not hesitate to do so. I recommend them highly in any endeavor requiring a professional planner or designer who listens, is engaged and enthusiastic, uses clear and concise thinking and brings highly talented staff to a project."— D. Project Notes:

In many cases, the existing mid-century vernacular lent itself very easily to renewal. Basic deficiencies in the existing buildings were identified and addressed in the illustrative study.
