James H. Quillen VA Medical Center - Building 37

Mountain Home, TN

The project involved the adaptive reuse of an older in-patient psychiatric facility for offices for VA administration and facility services. Originally built in the early 1900's the project also involved an historic renovation of the original front wing of the building. Late century additions were removed from the historic front facade and new arched top windows were provided in original openings. Interior trim was designed to the period and the color scheme was taken from the original terrazzo flooring. The end result - a highly functional, modern and efficient office facility which adeptly repurposes an older building for today's uses on an active VA campus.
