Last week was the Ground Breaking ceremony to commemorate the start of construction of the Philadelphia Elementary School additions. This is the third project in the current building program that Red Chair Architects have been a part of in Loudon County, Tennessee.
The 10,000 square foot additions will consist of a new kitchen and dining area to allow the entire student population to be served in three settings. The goal was to reduce the workload of kitchen personnel both in purchasing, storing, and preparing the food and to reduce the extend times for serving lunch to a student population that had expanded well beyond the original design parameters and functionality of the old space. The dining area will be well lit and provide an attractive space for students and community members to enjoy.
Through our work with Loudon County we have formed a strong professional relationship and friendship. We are happy to share an informal interview Red Chair Architect’s Don Shell had with Jason Vance, the Director of Loudon County Schools. It is meaningful to see a structure we have designed be appreciated and enjoyed, it is what being an architect is all about! Thank you Jason, we look forward to many more years of teamwork for the betterment of Loudon County Schools.
